Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 31, 2026

These terms govern your use of PDFUnlockerr (this "site" or "tool"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the tool does

PDFUnlockerr lets you remove a password from a PDF file entirely within your own browser, using a WebAssembly build of qpdf. No file is uploaded to any server; all processing happens on your device. The site is provided free of charge, with no account, subscription, or payment required.

Acceptable use

You agree to use this tool only on PDF files that you own, or that you have the legal right and permission to access and modify. In particular, you agree not to use this tool to:

  • Remove password protection from a file you do not own and do not have permission to edit;
  • Attempt to bypass security on a document in order to access information you are not authorized to see; or
  • Use the tool for any unlawful purpose.

This tool removes a password you already know — it does not crack, guess, or brute-force unknown passwords, and it should not be used in an attempt to do so.

You are solely responsible for how you use any file processed through this site.

No warranty

This site and tool are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will successfully process every PDF file.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, this site or tool — including any loss or corruption of a file you process through it. You are encouraged to keep a backup of any file before processing it.

Third-party components

The unlocking functionality is powered by qpdf, an open-source project distributed under the Apache License 2.0, compiled to WebAssembly. qpdf is not affiliated with this site and is used here as a self-contained, client-side library.
